Responding to COVID-19

COVID-19 Emergency Fund

Despite the ongoing uncertainties of the pandemic, the compassion of our community members led to the establishment of the COVID-19 Emergency Fund. This fund supported students when they needed it most—providing short-term funding for emergency expenses such as groceries, prescription medications and rent. The outpouring of donor support reinforced the impact that can be made when we come together as a collective to tackle causes affecting our communities.

Carleton Community Committed to Helping Students through Emergency Fund

From Intention to Action

The From Intention to Action (FITA) program helps students balance personal and academic stresses by providing one-on-one support with a Coordinator trained in counselling and psychotherapy every week for twelve consecutive weeks.

Through this initiative, students have the opportunity to develop better coping skills and learning strategies for improved academic functioning and a greater sense of well-being.

In response to the pandemic, the team shifted the FITA program to serve students in need of mental health support through virtual meetings with a FITA Coordinator. Thanks to the generosity of donors, students continued to have access to the resources they needed to ensure their personal and academic success.
